Make enemies readable
The strongest settings profile is the one that keeps silhouettes, effects, and terrain readable while holding a stable frame time. Extraction fights punish visual noise because the first warning can be a movement line or a skill tell.
- Keep texture quality high only when VRAM remains comfortable.
- Reduce effects and shadows when they hide attack tells.
- Use a consistent field of view and sensitivity while learning a class.
Test the real scenario
Do not validate a settings profile in an empty camp. Test it in a crowded PvE room, during an extraction ritual, and while multiple players use effects in the same sightline.
- Compare the same route before and after each change.
- Watch frame pacing while turning the camera quickly.
- Keep a note of the one setting that caused the largest improvement.
Controller and display
Both PS5 and Xbox controllers are supported. Keep input and display changes separate so you can tell whether a problem comes from the game, the screen, or the control device.
- Use a wired test when diagnosing input dropouts.
- Disable extra display processing when checking latency.
- Re-test after updates because performance tuning can change the baseline.
