Build the party first

Cross-platform play is easiest when the party agrees on the platform, region, input preference, and mode before the leader starts matchmaking. This prevents a queue problem from being mistaken for a build or class problem.

  • Choose one party leader and keep the region consistent.
  • Confirm every player has the same mode and version state.
  • Use the lowest-latency region that keeps the party together.

Input and display checks

PC, PlayStation, and Xbox players can bring different display and input habits into the same squad. Keep sensitivity, controller testing, and graphics troubleshooting separate so each player can isolate their own problem.

  • Test controller input in a safe area before loading a valuable kit.
  • Do not lower another player's graphics settings to solve a network issue.
  • Use short callouts that do not depend on a platform-specific control name.

When the queue fails

Capture the exact failure state before changing several settings: platform, region, party size, mode, and whether the client returns to the hub. That information points to the fastest next check.

  • Rebuild the party only after the original session closes.
  • Try a low-cost kit after reconnecting so the first test does not risk a key item.
  • Check the latest launch or patch update when every player sees the same failure.
