Start with the stable baseline

Mistfall Hunter's launch notes call out shader compilation, device tiering, console and low-end PC tuning, and frame pacing improvements. Start from a clean baseline before changing advanced options one at a time.

  • Install the game on an SSD.
  • Let shader compilation finish before judging the first match.
  • Close overlays and background capture tools during testing.

Tune in the right order

A stable frame time matters more than a single peak FPS number in a deliberate action game. Lower the settings that create spikes first, then recover image quality where the frame time remains flat.

  • Test resolution scale and shadows before texture quality.
  • Use a frame cap that your hardware can hold in combat.
  • Restart after driver or shader-cache changes before comparing results.

Diagnose the symptom

Separate network delay, shader hitching, and GPU or CPU saturation. The fix depends on the symptom; changing every setting at once only hides the cause.

  • Stutter during new effects points to shader or asset loading.
  • Input delay during stable FPS points to display or frame pacing.
  • Rubber-banding with stable frame time points to server or connection issues.
